Bari Life’s Creamy Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Protein Shake

Mixing our whey protein with water is convenient and tastes great, but this 5 ingredient recipe is extremely easy and ideal for bariatric patients to use as a meal replacement for breakfast and/or lunch. It also makes for a supreme post workout drink!
There are endless variations for this recipe, but we find this one extra tasty and super healthy! The numbered ingredients make the lowest calorie version of this shake. Feel free to modify the ingredients to your taste preference, but keep in mind that the nutritional information will also change. If you don’t like the main ingredients we’ve used be sure to check out the bullet points because they are also healthy recommendations!
For a single 10 oz. serving – in a blender (a “NutriBullet” is great for a single serving) add the following 5 ingredients listed below:
Note: Add dry ingredients & protein powder last. Pulse blender until everything is mixed to desired consistency!
1 cup light vanilla almond milk (such as “Silk”)
(60 calories, 2g fat, 11g carbs, 11g sugar, 1g protein)
- If using skim milk add 1 tsp vanilla for taste if desired
- Use ½ cup milk for thicker consistency
½ banana – broken into pieces
(52.5 calories, 0g fat, 13.5g carbs, 7g sugar, .65g protein)
- For more banana taste and thicker drink use 1 whole banana
- If you use 1 whole banana you will probably need at least 1 cup milk, so it’s drinkable and not too thick
1 TBSP “PB2” powder
(22.5 calories, .75g fat, 2.5g carbs, 0g sugar, 2.5g protein)
- 2 TBSP if you want a stronger peanut butter flavor
- Can use real peanut butter, but will be higher fat/nutrition content
1 scoop Bari Life Whey Protein
(110 calories, 0g fat, 1g carbs, 1g sugar, 24g protein)
¼ TSP cinnamon (or to taste)
